COS 100: Ten Years of a Timeless Wine

A rare wine for a privileged few

COS 100 remains a singular creation: it was produced only once, from the 2015 harvest. Just two barrels were made, yielding ten Balthazars and one hundred ten Double Magnums. Each bottle, engraved and individually numbered, is presented in a bespoke wooden and leather case designed as a true jewel box for this extraordinary wine. These large formats extend its aging potential, offering collectors the opportunity to preserve and pass it down through generations.

From its inception, COS 100 established itself as a mythical wine, reserved for collectors and admirers of Cos d’Estournel. Among them is Jimmy Butler, six-time NBA All-Star and devoted admirer of Cos d’Estournel—“by far my favorite wine”, he recently confided—and proud owner of one of the ten COS 100 Balthazars.

A reflection of a philosophy

“In conceiving COS 100,” recalls Michel Reybier, owner of the estate, “I wanted to pay tribute to the terroir and to the women of Cos d’Estournel who, over a century ago, planted these vines and ensured the continuity of the estate.” For Raphael Reybier, at the wine’s release, COS 100 is “a symbol of transmission—a link between a glorious past and a promising future.”

Indeed, COS 100 perfectly embodies the philosophy of Cos d’Estournel: cultivating boldness while honoring heritage, exalting the terroir, and inscribing every gesture in the long course of time.
