A seductive, balanced, voluptuous wine, the 2020 vintage continues to embody the personality of Pagodes de Cos and is an excellent introduction to the singular style of Cos d\u2019Estournel.<\/p>\n

In the 2020 vintage, Merlot from the Goul\u00e9e vineyard, in the northern part of M\u00e9doc, are just as exceptional as they are at Cos d\u2019Estournel. Goul\u00e9e saw more extreme weather conditions and less rain than Saint-Est\u00e8phe, but the vines being aged 35 years old on average, they were able to compensate thanks to their roots, which forever dig deeper from one year to the next, and the fresh air and minerality brought by the nearby Gironde Estuary and ocean.<\/p>\n

The resulting wine displays a unique profile: the balance and aromatics of a fresh vintage are accompanied by an acidity and a quality of tannins usually observed in warmer vintages.<\/p>\n

G d\u2019Estournel 2020, carried by the richness of the Merlot, is essentially delectable, and marked by notes reminiscent of salty sea breezes and a black pepper touch that lend it a great energy.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”92-93\/100 \u2013 James Suckling

Thanks to their deep roots and ability to adapt, they did not suffer from excessive levels of water stress.<\/p>\n

Greatly concentrated and rich, its Sauvignon grapes were exceptional and its S\u00e9millon highly expressive, which led our teams to include a higher percentage of the latter in the final blend.<\/p>\n

Marvelously sophisticated and rich, Cos d\u2019Estournel Blanc 2020 offers a wonderful balance of the wine\u2019s characteristic freshness, exquisite mineral notes and luxurious aromas of ripe fruit.
