Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel’s early nineteenth century vision for his estate was clear: he would dedicate his chateau to winemaking while opting for a more modest structure in which to dwell. His estate was a lifelong pursuit that included the renovation of its buildings and bringing together different plots of land to form a coherent entity that included his private home.

Driven by the same passion for preserving the precious legacy of Cos d’Estournel as Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel, Michel Reybier recently acquired the former’s private residence in order to recreate the original architectural ensemble as it existed nearly two centuries ago and transform its founder’s former home into a chic country retreat. Visitors may savor the experience of daily life on the estate and its vineyard as they relish the tranquil pace of a warm, inviting haven that recalls the pleasures of another time.
